Introducing the Egg and Dart Edge Profile—Now available from 3 Spark Design. This edge is offered as part of our new traditional series. It creates a refined version of a classic motif and gives designers incredible freedom. Use this in new and unexpected edge treatments not possible using break form sheet metal.
Egg and Dart edges have been popular since the inception of decorative mouldings with the Greek and Roman traditions. The were also popular in the Victorian Era as symbolism that represented life (the egg) and death (the dart).
After years of study, we have crafted this particular egg and dart based off an exceptional example from the library at Biltmore Estate, located in Asheville, NC. Artisans from across Europe were imported to fashion authentic styling for this Vanderbilt summer home.
We have worked to carefully balance a full, sculpted egg with a softened yet prominent dart. Simple semi hemispherical elements flank this portion on the top and bottom.

Where should I use Egg and Dart Edge profile?
This beautiful moulding can help validate and anchor traditional spaces in classic settings. Consider this for boutique hotel projects for brands with stately entrances.
